Kinect Update: Networking Effectively, Earning Referrals

Effective business networking is the linking together of individuals who, through trust and relationship building, get to know, like, and trust each other.

Kinect members earn referrals.

Kinect was started in 2014 as a way for Chamber members to earn referrals, form effective referral relationships, and overall be better networkers.

Over the past year, Kinect members have averaged three referrals per meeting. We educate each other about the problems that we solve for our clients, share client testimonials, ask for specific referrals, and highlight community events we are involved in.

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Friday mornings of each month at The Chamber and commit to both regular attendance and first giving a referral in order to earn a referral. Our goal is not to earn business from each Kinect member. Rather, we aim to earn business from every person each Kinect member knows. Those who attend regularly earn the most referrals because there are more opportunities to build trust.

If Friday mornings do not work for you, or there is already a Chamber member business already represented in your industry, we form another Kinect group.

We are currently looking for nonprofit professionals, bankers/credit union-ers, insurance professionals, internet service providers, coaches, consultants, handyman type contractors, health care professionals, sign makers, photographers, financial planners, retailers, and pet professionals.

Current Kinect members are accountants, personal fitness trainers, consultants, trainers, contractors, home/commercial cleaners, digital marketers, commercial interior designers, restaurateurs/hoteliers, attorneys, and more!
