Legislative Insights – October 2014

Lt. Dave Remiker of the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit was a guest presenter at the September Business Connects with Government Luncheon. Lt. Remiker talked about the growing drug problem in the community and how all Manitowoc County law enforcement is teaming up to tackle the problem at full force.

Officer Jason Koenig from the Manitowoc Police Department, also introduced the audience to his K-9 partner Ully, talked about the Manitowoc K-9 program, and Ully was able to do some demonstrations for the group.

The next Business Connects with Government Luncheon will be on Monday, October 6, and will feature a presentation from Marcia Flaherty, Superintendent, and Ken Mischler, Director of Business Services, for Manitowoc  Public School District.  They will discuss the upcoming Manitowoc Public School District Referendum questions that will be on the November 4, ballot. Additionally both candidates for the 9th District State Senate seat, Martha Laning and Devin LeMahieu,  have been invited to attend, and will be given a brief time allotment to introduce themselves to the audience, as well as take questions from the audience (time permitting.)
