Legislative Insights – “Why Are You Running For Council?”

We posed this question to all five candidates running for Two Rivers City Council:  “Why are you running for council”?  Read their responses below and don’t forget to vote on April 7!

Darla LeClair:  As a recent 6-year employee of Two Rivers Public Works Engineering I understand how a city ticks, and my experience would contribute to my effectiveness as a member of City Council.  The duty of our city government is to improve it’s citizens quality of life – working on the lack of employment, escalating utility & tax rates, stagnant median income and dwindling population. It would be my honor and privilege to help this community achieve these goals.  For more candidate information please go to https://Leclair2Rivers.wordpress.com

Patrick Gagnon:  I am running for City Council because I believe in the future of Two Rivers.  Two Rivers is a good city and, despite challenges, has potential to progress to be a more dynamic city.  I believe that I am qualified to contribute to the city’s growth.  I am a Two Rivers native and have lived here most of my life.  I served 15 years on the Two Rivers Board of Education and nine years on the Lester Public Library Board, the last seven as President.
