What We Do For the Community

Whether working together to ensure a strong future workforce, promote local purchasing, address an issue that's holding up growth, or to develop ways to keep young people engaged, the Chamber and its volunteers work hard and successfully on many fronts.

Career Expo & Manufacturing Career Projects

Nearly 1400 high school sophomores gather to explore careers each January thanks to over 100 chamber volunteers and county businesses.

Each year, students from area high schools participate in Project Mini-Chopper.  The mission of Project Mini-Chopper is to improve the image of manufacturing and help students, parents, educators and the community understand that manufacturing provides excellent career opportunities, which will help create a skilled workforce to meet manufacturing needs today and in the future.

Buy Local Initiatives

Over $500,000 of Chamber Bucks are sold and invested in area businesses each year, and 15,000 Chamber Advantage Cards (one for each of your employees) offer hundreds of dollars in savings to Chamber member companies.  Member-to-member programs and other efforts encourage corporate and government purchasing to be directed to local businesses.

Legislative Efforts

If there is an issue that may hold up business success in our region, the Chamber's Legislative Committee goes into action to provide education.  Monthly Business Connects with Government luncheons promote strong, effective relationships with government officials.

SAIL Young Professionals of Manitowoc County

Valued connections and friendships are the primary goals of this energetic group young professionals who meet monthly to socialize and learn together.  These are the up-and-comming leaders in our communities.
