Ribbon Cutting Guidelines & Process
A Ribbon Cutting is a celebration — and we’re excited to help you mark your milestone! Whether you’re opening a new business, expanding, relocating, or celebrating an anniversary, we’re honored to partner with you.
To ensure a successful event, please review the following guidelines:
Eligibility
- Businesses must be a current Chamber member for us to host and promote a Ribbon Cutting.
- Events will only be advertised and supported once membership is confirmed.
Scheduling & Lead Time
- Please allow 2–3 weeks of advance notice when requesting a Ribbon Cutting.
- Dates are subject to:
- The Chamber’s existing calendar of events
- Staff availability
- Ribbon Cuttings are not held on Saturdays or Sundays.
The earlier we receive your details, the more effectively we can promote your event.
Timing & Attendance
We’ve found that attendance is strongest when Ribbon Cuttings are held:
- Over the noon hour, or
- Between 4:00–5:30 PM
Other times are possible; however, please note that attendance may vary depending on the time selected.
Promotion
The Chamber will promote your Ribbon Cutting through available communication channels once:
- A date and time are confirmed
- Event details are provided
Providing complete information early allows us to maximize visibility and engagement.
What to Expect
The Chamber will:
- Provide ceremonial ribbon and scissors
- Invite Chamber members and community leaders
- Facilitate brief remarks and the ribbon cutting moment
- Capture photos
We encourage you to:
- Invite customers, employees, friends, and partners
- Prepare brief remarks (2–3 minutes recommended)
- Consider offering light refreshments (optional)
